Forever Friends
|
This page is dedicated to those whom we have loved and lost. Our
lives have been altered forever by their unconditional love, and these
beloved ones will remain alive in our hearts as long as they live in
our memories. We remember them fondly and give thanks for the pleasure
of their company and for the love and happiness they brought to us.

Boomer
Boomer is a forever reminder to our family that love at first sight
can happen. He is truly our best friend and a very special boy who afforded
us the opportunity to feel special through his loyal, caring and loving
ways. His bright eyes and larger-than-life smile will forever be deeply
remembered and missed.

Hudson
Hudson Kruse a.k.a. Moving Free 8/1995 - 8/2004
He'll be remembered for his big soulful eyes and his 'chocolate chip'
ears. He will always be my best boy.
Kim Kruse

Rio
Rio Kruse a.k.a. Diamond Rio 12/1992 - 12/2005
She truly was a diamond. I am so thankful I had her. She was my first
greyhound, thus set the standards high forever more. She'll always be
remembered for her smile. I miss that smile and sounds everyday.

Rooney
We asked for a gentle greyhound, and Rooney was that -- and more --
to
his last breath: the gentleman greyhound. We thought we were rescuing
him
but, truth be told, he rescued us. Thank you, big fella, for all the
love
and snuggles. Our time together would have been far too short even if
you'd
lived to be 50.
Love, Jim and Dori

Angus
In loving memory of Angus, beloved boy of Caroline , Andrew and Colin.
He is your friend, your partner,
Your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true
To the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

Jason
A very deep-chested red brindle the most loving dog you can imagine.
We call him our love dog.
Niels and Lorena Hauffe

Pinwheel
We were adopted by the love of our lives on Sept 15, 2000. For five
wonderful years he blessed us with his presence and love, and his daily
wake-up yelps at 0530 to let us know the sun was up and he can now see
the squirrels moving. He was always patient with his older sister Lucky
(a Rhodesian ridgeback rescue), and let her think she was the alpha.
Pinwheel got his name from the spinning action his tail made when he
was happy!! And boy did that tail spin all the time!! Pinwheel crossed
over the rainbow bridge June 2005 after acute kidney failure.

Gabe
(a.k.a. Kiowa Mags Matt)

Stella
(a.k.a. MN's Rodnina)
Stella came to me as a very shy, scared little girl and over time blossomed
into a very confident, hardworking GPA volunteer. She did many meet
and greets and home visits and helped many of her friends back at the
track find forever homes. She changed my life in so many ways, and I
will always have her in my heart.
Pam Follett
Van
(a.k.a. Van Gogh)
Raced as Caro's Catapult
6/13/89 -3/20/03
Van (L) was the perfect dog. Everyone who met him fell in love
with him, you just couldn't help it. One look at his soulful
brown eyes and you were hooked. We will never know another dog
quite like him. Van was truly a "good boy".

Covey
(a.k.a. Coventry)
4/9/89 - 2/6/03
Covey (R) was a special girl, full of mischief, yet afraid of her own
shadow all at the same time. She wanted only to love you and be
loved in return. Her curiosity could be exasperating, but her
tenacity was admirable. Covey was our "pretty girl".

Della Dee
Forever in our hearts...
Sue, Bob and Achilles

Legs
2/5/93 - 12/27/98
Raced as "MK's Very Dicey"
Paul and Kathe Fritz where blessed with the care of Legs for several
greyt months. Kathe and Paul will always feel a soothing happiness when
remembering him. His years where short but happy. He filled those around
him with joy. He taught us all the true meaning of courage and strength
in the face of a terminal disease. Gone but not forgotten...
Tasha
(a.k.a. Tara)
8/90-11/98
Tasha came to us as a foster baby. They had wanted to place her in a
home with children because she was such a sweetheart. She was only in
our home two weeks before we decided we either needed to give her back
or adopt her -- we were in love! She was born to please. She WAS great
with kids -- my husband and me!

Casey
(a.k.a. Win D Casey)
12/4/88 - 4/99
Casey has been the mascot at the adoption kennels at Wheeling Downs
for 2 and 1/2 years. We were very honored to have Casey come into our
home and once you knew him, you wondered how the folks at the adoption
kennels ever let him go. He was the mellowest dog you'll ever meet in
your life. Nothing bothered him -- except lawn mowers. He was the most
adaptable fellow I ever met. He found our bed the first day in the house
and claimed it as his own! How could we say no?!

Johnny Boy
(a.k.a. BG's Johnny Reb)
8/6/88 - 8/96
Johnny was our first greyhound and we'll always remember him as a perfect
gentleman. It was a fulfilling experience to see him blossom from knowing
only the race track experience to a beloved pet and companion. Knowing
Johnny convinced us to ALWAYS have at least one greyhound in our lives.

Trevor
